The proposed SAD #46 K-8 school construction project continues to move forward.  The new building will replace the present Dexter Middle School, Dexter Primary School, Garland Elementary School, and Exeter Consolidated School.  Therefore, the SAD #46 Board of Directors will be re-forming six sub-committees related to the construction project.  The sub-committees will be made up of professional staff, board members, consultants, and most importantly, representation from the general public.   

The Mission Statement for this K-8 Project states that it is the intent of the SAD #46 Board of Directors to provide facilities for the students of the district that support their educational, social, and physical needs.  It is important that the K-8 school provide a healthy and safe academic environment in which students can learn and staff can work.  Through broad community involvement, the SAD #46 Board of Directors will examine all available options to create a facility appropriate for K-8 education in the 21^st century. 

With those goals in mind, six sub-committees will be re-formed to provide the Board of Directors with information in the decision making process of a K-8 school project.  The Sub-Committees are:  Athletic Fields and Grounds, Building/Mechanical Systems, Building Space and Programming Needs, Moveable Equipment, Public Relations, and Technology.  If you are interested in serving on any of these sub-committees, please contact the Superintendent's Office at 924-5262 or one of your School Board representatives.

 Representatives of the SAD #46 Board of Directors and the Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Jordan, are also available to meet with any group or civic organization to discuss the new school project.
