A Message from Mr. Smith
Dear Parents: I would like to welcome you and your child to the upcoming year at the Dexter Middle School. I hope this school year will be a positive and worthwhile educational experience for you and your child. I believe that close cooperation between the home and school are essential to promote the best interests for your child. I encourage, and would enjoy, for parents to visit school to attend activities and scheduled meetings of parents and teachers. There are mutual benefits when there is a meaningful exchange of information between home and school. I have a very competent and knowledgeable staff who would enjoy the opportunity to discuss any area of your child's educational progress. Progress reports and rank cards are given to the students four times a year. They traditionally go home with the student. However, other arrangements can be made on a case-by-case basis if needed. I would like to remind all parents to read through the student handbook. It covers a lot of information that I feel is valuable to your student's educational future at Dexter Middle School. I would encourage you to keep the handbook available as a reference throughout the school year. The middle school years are certainly transitional growth years, but they go by very quickly. They are very educationally-enriched and busy times for students, parents and staff. My staff and I are never to busy to take the time to work with parents, students, and staff for student growth. Please contact us if you feel we can be of any assistance. Thank you, Juliana Richard, Principal Dexter Middle School
